LO: To generate key questions with a specific purpose in mind.

Today, we are going to be starting our unit of non-fiction writing. Can you remember what non-fiction means?

As a class, we are going to be creating our own information book about explorers! By the end of the unit, we will all complete a piece of non-fiction writing about explorers and we will put it together to make a class information book.

For today's lesson, I would like you to think about what you already know about explorers and what you would like to know. Use the template below to help you.

  1. First complete the 'What I already know' section. You need to write in full sentences to explain what you know.
  2. Then, go on to the 'What I want to know' section. You need to write your own questions that you would like to know about explorers e.g. How do explorers know where to go?

LO: To divide by 2.

Play 'Hit the Button' to practise your number bonds to 10, 20 and 100. What's your highest score?

Watch the video below. You might need to pause the video to do some working out. Write your answers into your remote learning book.

If you would like some extra practise, you can complete the questions on the worksheet below either by printing out the worksheet, writing on top on the worksheet via activities on Class Dojo, or by writing your answers into your remote learning book.
