If you feel as though your child would benefit from continuing phonics practise, please use the links below.

Similarly, if you would like to use these activities instead of or in addition to the reading practise above, please feel free to do so.

Suffixes - Adding -ful and -less.

Today, we are going to be thinking about the suffixes -ful and -less and which new words they make when they are added to the root word. Remember, a suffix is a group of letters added to the end of a root word to change its meaning.

  1. Watch the lesson video below.
  2. Use the worksheet above to create new -ful and -less words.
  3. Next, choose 3 -ful and 3 -less words and write a sentence for each. Don't forget your capital letters and full stops!

Easter Signs and Symbols

Today, we are going to be starting our new RE unit of 'Easter signs and symbols'.

What do you already know about Easter, and what more would they like to find out?
Easter is the most important festival in the Christian Calendar. Easter celebrates God raising his son, Jesus, from the dead.
Jesus died to save humankind and this was part of God’s salvation plan. It also symbolises the opening of Heaven with the gift of eternal life to everyone.

  1. Listen to the retelling of the Easter story below.
  2. Retell the Easter story in your own words by creating a newspaper article about the events. Use the question prompts on the sheet to help you.
