Practise the different oa sounds that we might find whilst reading:

oa in boat

Can you think of some other words that use these oa spellings?

LO: To identify and use features of information texts.

Today we are going to be looking at which features make up an information text.

  1. Watch the video to learn all about the features of information texts.
  2. Once you have finished, write your own information text about wolves using some of the features that we have looked at. Make sure that it has a heading, subheading, interesting facts and a picture.

You can use the template below to help you. If you are unable to print the template, use it as a guide and write your information text into your remote learning book.

Features of Information Texts

LO: To make an observational drawing of a statue.

Look at pictures of Anthony Gormely’s ‘Another Place’ statues.

Make a sketch one of his sculptures. Try to make sure that everything is in proportion.

Proportion means how small or large something is when compared to something else e.g. if something is in proportion, it is the right size compared to the other things around it. When drawing or painting people, proportion is important.

Challenge: Can you add mark making to your drawing?
