My name is Miss Goulbourne, and I am the Reception teacher at St John's Primary.

I'm delighted to be able to share our learning with you and provide you with handy links to support your child's learning. 

Mrs Carmichael & Miss Emily are the Reception Teaching Assistants that work in class.

Mrs Brett is our class lunchtime welfare assistant.

 

READING

Please try to enjoy 5-10 minutes of reading with your child each evening. Alongside listening to them read, spend some time chatting about their book and asking questions about what they have read. This is a lovely way to share a story together while helping to develop their understating, vocabulary and reading comprehension.  

Reading books are changed weekly, your child's reading day can be found on the first page of their reading diary.

PE

Friday is our PE day. Please bring your child to school in their PE kit; white t-shirt, black shorts/joggers, black pumps or trainers & school jumpers or cardigans. 

Home-school Diary

The children's home-school diary provides a lovely opportunity for children to share their learning and experiences between home and school.

Every Friday, your child will bring home their home-school diary with an activity attached inside. These are designed to be completed together at home and should be returned to school by the following Friday, when we will spend some time sharing and celebrating the children's work and experiences with the rest of the class. This is a wonderful opportunity for children to talk about what they have done, develop their confidence and speaking skills, and see what their classmates have been learning at home.
