Science Intent

At St John's CE Primary School, our science curriculum meets the National Curriculum's statutory needs, and is designed to meet the needs of all pupils at our school. Science is valued as an important part of pupils' entitlement to a broad and balanced curriculum and is planned to build on disciplinary and substantive knowledge continually.

At St John’s Primary School, we aim to deliver creative, high-quality science lessons that engage, excite and inspire our pupils. We are committed to fostering a sense of curiosity and wonder about natural phenomena and develop our children’s understanding of the world around us through the disciplines of biology, chemistry and physics. We follow the White Rose Curriculum for Science to ensure full coverage of the National Curriculum and allow pupils to develop ­­­their scientific knowledge and skills through the delivery of memorable, enriching lessons.
