Admissions to Reception outside of the normal age group will be considered on an individual basis in accordance with the School Admissions Code 2021 and Sefton LA’s Policy which can be found on the Sefton website www.sefton.gov.uk/schooladmissionspolicyandreports
The Department for Education (DfE) has also issued guidance for parents of summer born children which can be found here www.gov.uk/government/publications/summer-born-children-school-admission.
Schools will be asked for the views (as per the guidance & new policy) but the LA must now ensure there is consistent decision making for all Sefton schools.
